what is semi?

In this economy, everyone wants to lower their energy costs, and increase their efficiency.

Right now, there is a rare opportunity to increase your facility’s energy efficiency with the new Strategic Energy Management for Industry (SEMI) grant program. SEMI covers up to:

  • 100% of eligible project costs for not-for-profits, municipalities, and Indigenous organizations
  • 50% of eligible project costs for for-profit organizations.

If your facility falls within the following industries, funding is available for energy audits, training, monitoring and retrofits such as solar and LED lighting.

  • Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting
  • Mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction
  • Utilities
  • Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Transportation
  • Administrative and support, waste management and remediation services

Newo can walk with you through the grant process to access these funds, which include support for:

  • energy assessments and audits
  • implementation of an energy management information system
  • strategic energy management training
  • capital retrofit projects (e.g. solar, LED lighting)

Contact Newo’s lead energy auditor, Maroof (maroof@newo.energy), today to learn more about how we can help you access this grant to make a difference for you and your community.
